Although PMR primarily affects the shoulders and hips, some individuals experience pain in smaller joints like the:

  • Knees – Walking is difficult.
  • Wrists – Causes discomfort when typing or holding objects.
  • Elbows – Bending the arms is challenging..

Unlike rheumatoid arthritis, PMR does not typically cause joint swelling or permanent damage, but the pain and stiffness can still make daily tasks difficult.

Other symptoms:
