No matter how many times we've been told about the harmful effects of drinking carbonated beverages, no matter how many times our parents told us as children to "drink water," most of us still drink them in one form or another, reaching for, for example, so-called diet drinks.

In recent years, many people have started drinking diet soda, believing it to be an alternative that supposedly isn't as harmful to health while still quenching thirst. However, reports indicate that the chemicals in diet soda can be just as harmful to your body. Although research is still in the early stages, it seems the safest solution is to completely avoid these types of beverages.
