How to choose a sweet and ripe watermelon?

Observe: Hit the watermelon with your joints or the palm of your hand. A mature melon produces a deep, hollow and full sound, slightly resonant. Some describe it as a dull or rich sound.
An immature sound is often brighter, flatter or even metallic.
A too mature sound can also be very dull and “soft.”
The base of the stem (or the hole where the rod was)
To be observed: If the watermelon still has a stem, it must be dry and brownish. This indicates that the melon was harvested ripe and naturally separated from the stem. A fresh, green stem may indicate that the melon was harvested too early. If there is only one small hole left, it is also a good sign.
