Please STOP boiling potatoes in water!

2 1/2 cups whole milk

2 cloves garlic

Salt to taste

2 tablespoons butter

Pepper and nutmeg (optional)

Preparation:

Place the potatoes in a pot with the milk, garlic, and salt.

Cook over medium heat until tender (about 20-25 minutes).

Remove the garlic if you don't want it too strong.

Add the butter and mash everything with a potato masher or fork.

Adjust with more milk if you want it smoother.

Serve hot and enjoy!
