Did you know that there is a bacteria that eats human flesh? Find out what it is and how it spreads.

Necrotizing arthritis begins with an infection and inflammation of the tissue that covers the muscles. The bacteria kill all the superficial tissues, which eventually disappear, leaving the bone structure exposed.

This disease can be contracted through scratches, cuts and even insect bites; in a nutshell, it is contracted through skin lesions. The skin takes on a reddish color and this spreads quickly. It also causes intense pain and the person may even suffer high fevers, which not only numb the muscles, but also prevent proper movement of the limbs. Normally, when this disease affects the hands or feet, the area ends up being amputated.

Sometimes raw meat can contain bacteria that can cause serious foodborne illness.

Sushi, for example, is made up of several ingredients. But the fish part of sushi is often never cooked, so if you eat it, you’re eating raw meat.
